Teaching Basic Skills Competition for Young Instructors Held by the School of Vehicle and Energy

The School of Vehicle and Energy held an intra-school selection competition for young instructors' teaching basic skills on the afternoon of September 24th in Room 319 of the Vehicle Building to further strengthen the construction of the young instructor workforce, enhance the educational and teaching proficiency of young instructors, encourage them to actively explore classroom teaching rules and methods, and select outstanding young instructors to participate in the 11th Teaching Basic Skills Competition for Young Instructors at the university level.

The competition was judged by Li Wenping, Ma Pinghua, Zhang Liang, Zhao Minghui, Han Dongying, and Zhang Jing. Six instructors, Zhu Jian, Wang Qiang, Yan Mei, Li Hongxue, Shi Erxiu, and Han Jinxuan, represented various majors and participated in the competition. The competition was hosted by school vice dean Li Nan, and young instructors under 38 years old in the school observed the competition.

The six young instructors who qualified for the school competition carefully prepared their teaching design plans according to the competition requirements, clearly outlining the teaching guiding ideology, content analysis, student situation analysis, teaching objectives and key and difficult points, and teaching process design corresponding to the chapters of the course syllabus for which they were competing. During the competition, the participating instructors were dressed elegantly and normally, displayed a full state of energy, exhibited a natural and generous demeanor, articulated their points accurately, highlighted the key and difficult points, paid attention to organically combining blackboard writing with multimedia courseware, presented standardized blackboard writing, and created multimedia courseware that was illustrated with both text and images, achieving the expected teaching effect. They demonstrated a high level of teaching and professional quality, reflecting the positive and upward spirit of young instructors.

The participating instructors were scored by two parts: the teaching design plan and classroom teaching, aiming to assess the abilities of young instructors in pre-class design and classroom teaching organization. The judges provided brilliant comments on the teaching of each participating instructor and conducted in-depth exchanges with them regarding the course's teaching design, content, organization and effects.

This competition received great attention from the leaders of our school. Young instructors who met the competition conditions actively participated in the selection competitions of various majors. Excellent young instructors were selected through the majors' competitions to participate in the school competition. During the competition, young instructors were also organized to observe and learn, providing a platform for exchange and learning for every young instructor. This competition was held for conducive to improving the teaching proficiency of young instructors, promoting their growth and development, and further strengthening the construction of the young instructor workforce.
