In the past ten years, the school has undertaken 23 national projects, 36 provincial and ministerial projects and 70 municipal and departmental projects, such as Research on Output Power Fluctuation Mechanism and Stabilization Control of Hydraulic Wind Turbine, Research on Vehicle Vibration Energy Recovery Suspension System Based on Piezoelectric Effect, Safety Assessment of Steel Structure of Derrick in Service and Theoretical Research on Residual Life Prediction, Research on Mechanism and Control of Full Power Band Switch of Hydraulic Mechanical Stepless Transmission, Structural Principle of Vertical System of Deepwater Drilling Riser, Stress Analysis and Optimization Design, Micro-damage Identification of Large Derrick Steel Structure under Noise Background and Safety Assessment under Wind Load. There are 114 horizontal entrusted projects with a total funding of over 12 million yuan. Moreover, the school has had 37 papers included in SCIE, 126 papers in EI and 193 core papers in Chinese, and has obtained 94 invention patents and realized achievement transformation for 24 patents.
According to the next development plan of the school, eight main research directions have been refined by disciplines and the following teaching and research teams have been initially established: research team of intelligent automobiles and system dynamics, research team of automobile power transmission and control, research team of lightweight design and manufacturing for automobile key parts, drilling and production engineering team, oil-gas reservoir engineering team, oil-gas well measurement and equipment testing team, energy conversion and utilization technology, equipment optimization and combustion pollution control team, and team of new energy technology development and utilization.
The school now has the Special Carrier Equipment Research Center in Hebei (provincial scientific research platform).
